A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

...well actually it was last Saturday... 

Jake, his two big brothers, one cousin and an honorary cousin set off on and an EPIC adventurous road trip to a Star Wars convention in Germany

Some noses (like the honorary cousin's) are bigger than others...

Some ears are bigger than others...

Some eyes got as big as saucers at all the things they saw (yes this is a big brother - they look like two peas in a pod racer - could have been clones :o)

They saw lots of people who'd made costumes that went down a storm trooper. (We made Jake's Yoda headgear and cloak)

They saw galactic police...and real German police who laughed when they tested negative and they caught sight of all the Star Wars regalia. One big brother quoted a Jedi and said 'You do not need to see our identification', passing his hand in front of the policeman's face. Luckily the policemen liked a joke too! 

Here is the awesome actor who played R2D2 (signing autographs at the table).

It was a BLAST!!!

The honorary cousin got lucky

And after they'd packed everything away

they all made it back from the dark side in one piece with lots to tell their friends. Thanks big brothers and cousins! May the force be with you!

Nooooo...... He did it again!!!!!

Yes, after a late night watching his bro' Sonny in the lead role in his first film, which had its opening night last Wednesday...

...Jake fell over a log in the school grounds and broke his arm AGAIN. Poor little guy. He was so brave, his teacher just said 'sit down, it'll feel better in five minutes' and sent him home with a 10-yr-old friend - without even calling me first to make sure I was home. 

Back to ER and back in plaster, this time pinned in place. Then the cast was too tight. Back into hospital. Out again now and FEELING GOOD.

And what can we learn from that?

1. Denmark has too many trees.
2. Late nights are bad for you.
3. Sonny is amazing...
4. ...so is Jake...
5. ...and Watson is still embarrassed about his appearance ;o).

Press 'like' if you think Jake's a brave little soldier. If there is a 'like' button - I can't quite remember... 

The grand opening of the new National Aquarium

My friend Jane and I were lucky enough to be given a 'sneak preview' grand personal tour of the stunning new National Aquarium Denmark. And are some photos of our visit and a few of the 20,000 fish and other marine animals you will be able to see...including what looks like an underwater camel (above)

how  visitors will be able to get friendly
with crabs,

...and plenty more besides.

Ooh it tickles!

Jane gets suckered into shaking hands with a lovely Pacific octopus.
Naturally, this won't be part of the entertainment on offer to the 700,000
visitors expected every year. Despite having eight arms,
the poor octopus would get tuckered out in no time.

But the behind-the-scenes guided tours five times a day
will take you past the tank to say hello.

And here is Jane, waving to a diver who was cleaning the Ocean Tank, which is big enough to hold 40 buses! She's standing in the transparent tunnel that leads right through the tank so that you can see hammerhead sharks, sting rays and shoals of other fish all around you. Don't worry, as you can see by the 'white line' in the photo, the acrylic tunnel is thick enough to hold  the 4 million litres of water in this huge tank so you don't get wet feet.

We were the first visitors to walk across the glass
floor after the protective covering was removed. And we didn't break it!

nice hot weather (if we ever get any here in Denmark).

Spot the leafy sea dragons

Follow the swallow...

...for a happy helping of song and music at Anemone Theatret, where they say you don't have to be good at Danish to enjoy the show.

I Svalens Fodspor (In the Swallow's Footsteps) is for 3-8-year-olds who'd like to see Trolderose and Tommelise set off on an adventure that takes them through the land of the sun, moon and animals before ending up in sleepyland where their friendship is put to the test.
