Fun stuff for kids and parents

Tried and tested on willing guinea piglets

This optimistic, self-employed writer, translator, columnist and mum knows that with kids, a dash of charm and a good giggle beat fear of failure every time.

So here are some out-of-the-box ideas to keep kids and parents happy for hours...

Nooooo...... He did it again!!!!!

Yes, after a late night watching his bro' Sonny in the lead role in his first film, which had its opening night last Wednesday...

...Jake fell over a log in the school grounds and broke his arm AGAIN. Poor little guy. He was so brave, his teacher just said 'sit down, it'll feel better in five minutes' and sent him home with a 10-yr-old friend - without even calling me first to make sure I was home.

Back to ER and back in plaster, this time pinned in place. Then the cast was too tight. Back into hospital. Out again now and FEELING GOOD.

And what can we learn from that?

1. Denmark has too many trees.
2. Late nights are bad for you.
3. Sonny is amazing...
4. ...so is Jake...
5. ...and Watson is still embarrassed about his appearance ;o).

Press 'like' if you think Jake's a brave little soldier. If there is a 'like' button - I can't quite remember...

Our visit to Lalandia...and the Tornado

Here's a photo of the Tornado itself! Though something tells me this picture may have been posed :o)). No one seems to be wet and the lady isn't even holding on. It's MUCH more fun than that - a thundering water rafting experience that begins with heaving a large inflatable boat up Mount Everest, and culminates in crashing, white-knuckled, down a frothing tangle of huge pipes, arms, legs and swirly tunnels. I have never screamed so loudly before. Aaaaargghhhh ... gluuurggle. Or felt so brave – afterwards.
We had a terrific time and tried everything.

Take the plunge with these top tips

Don’t worry what you look like in a swimsuit. Everyone is too busy watching their kids to look up. Or should be. Just wear black and stand next to the tattooed lady and no-one will bat an eyelid – plenty won’t be able to ... their eyelashes will be stuck together by mascara that claimed to be waterproof.
Just think, as you heave large rafts and inflatable boats up lots of stairs, what great exercise you’re getting and how long the queue would have been if you didn’t have to heave large rafts and inflatable boats up lots of stairs.
E=MC squashed ... large objects propelled by water travel down slides faster than smaller objects, though larger objects tend to not have such bony elbows, so it evens out in the end.

Slip and slide...make your own like the FANTASTIC PLASTIC BAGMAN!!!!

Stretch out the big plastic sheets and fasten down.
We used gaffa tape attached to heavy stuff a long way away from flailing
arms and legs. Some people use pegs but duct tape is nice and soft - though it
does eventually lose its stickyness in water.

Cover with water and cooking oil.
Fix up a hosepipe (bottom right) - unless there's a hosepipe ban,
then do a rain dance and hope it pours down.
Instead of cooking oil, you may prefer baby shampoo that doesn't hurt your eyes.

The fantastic, plastic BAGMAN!!!
Complete with pillow for tummy and big plastic bags taped on
with duct tape.
MAKE SURE:
1. Capes are taped to chests and not round necks .
2. Plastic bags have BIG HOLES for heads.

A true Englishman - he keeps his socks on!

Visor down, READY, STEADY, GO!!

YOUTUBE VIDEO LINKS

The video function won't work on blogspot but we're using YouTube.
Guess if I was clever I'd be able to rotate the videos, but regular readers won't be expecting miracles (not in a technical sense anyway) so imagine the G-force is to blame, imagine the ipad is a steering wheel and  turn it carefully on its side :o)
Hold tight! Here we go!
