This optimistic, self-employed writer, translator, columnist and mum knows that with kids, a dash of charm and a good giggle beat fear of failure every time.

Jar Jar Jinks

Want to make a pretty candlelight holder?
Here's what you'll need. Most of it is from Tiger - the stuff we bought to decorate
the Christmas wreath we made out of clay.
A Nutella jar or jam jar
Glitter glue or varnish and glitter
A piece of ribbon
A glue gun - for older kids only
Anything else you can find that's pretty, really - even and old earring if you've lost the other one
You can make squiggles or squirls but Jake and Laura did dots

THIS HURTS so don't do it. Glue guns are HOT
Glue the ribbon...
...around the top, bottom or middle of the jar

Dot some glue on the beads or flower you use to decorate
the lace that will go on the jar...
like this little flower I found in my ancient sewing box

We cut the circle of lace from an old remnant...
no not my drawers :o)

And when your jar is good and dry...next day...it will look like this!
Well done Jake
In a few days' time...see how Laura's pretty jar turns out...and over the weeks until the next column, you'll see photos of our trip to Glassuniverset and Gilleleje.

Those ladies were saints

Here is Dr Watson, wriggling a bit in the capable hands of
Anne (right), Rina and Hanne (left)

And this was the little doggy before the photo above being given a bath by Rina.

Dr Watson began having a short back and sides by Hanne...

And then it was owner Anne Frøkjær's turn to go 'down under'.

Kiss and make up.

What a dashing fellow! And then we dashed off.

More doggy photos

Dr Watson 'before'.

A friendly cat from next door...
...came and said hi.

Here is the cute fox terrier. What a set of whiskers!

And here's another calm little doggy.

Here's Louis the Basset.

He had eyelashes to die for.
And it's just been confirmed that:
Vestegnens Hundeskole is holding an agility show on 14 and 15 June
Everyone is welcome to watch and it's free but I'm still awaiting more details because I can only find out from the website that it's in Albertslund.
We'll have to get Dr Watson on the case!

More doggy photos coming up so watch this space...
